It’s organized into four panels: **Setup**, **Guidance**, **Edit**, and **Information**. Each panel contains tools used at specific stages of the ACP workflow including initializing the project, defining routing preferences, and interacting with ACP-generated solutions. This guide walks you through the broad functions of each tool. ![Toolbar displaying various project management and inspection tools for software applications.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/full ribbon 1.png) --- ## Setup panel ![Icons for launching, initializing, inspecting, and scheduling project models in software interface.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/setup panel 1.png) - [**Launch ACP**](/v1/docs/launching-and-logging-into-acp) ![User interface displaying a blank list with options for interaction and navigation.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/launch(2).png) Activates the ACP plugin and enables all functionality within the ribbon. - [**Initialize Project**](/v1/docs/initializing-a-revit-project) ![Icon representing a centered alignment tool for user interface design.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/initialize.png) Sets up the project by adding required shared parameters, views, families, filters, and schedules necessary for ACP to operate. - [**Inspect Model**](/v1/docs/inspect-model) ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/inspect model.png) Helps review the ACP-Import view for High-Detail Elements and Unexpected Categories. - [**Schedule Run**](/v1/docs/placing-electrical-elements-with-acp-ana) ![Diagram illustrating a flowchart with connected elements and highlighted sections for clarity.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/schedule run icon(1).png) Streamlines raceway scheduling and Source/Destination placement by connecting the workflows between the Revit project and the ACP study’s Conduit Schedule. --- ## Guidance panel ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/image-3Y6W22T6.png) ACP’s routing tools allow users to define preferred pathways, restricted zones, and mandatory routes for conduit. These tools are used as part of the [Automatic Routing](/v1/docs/about-automatic-routing) workflow. > [!NOTE] > ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/C1.png) *For step-by-step instructions on how to use these tools, refer to the* [*Using the Guidance Tools*](/v1/docs/using-the-guidance-tools) *article.* #### Guidance Boxes - **Preferred Box** ![A green block positioned at an angle, illustrating geometric shapes and dimensions.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/preferred box.png) When multiple routes are possible, a Preferred Box tells ACP to prioritize a route that runs through this box if it doesn’t negatively impact the overall route. - Specific conduit runs may be forced to route within the box by [assigning the Run ID in the Conduit Schedule](/v1/docs/creating-schedule-inputs#create-a-raceway-in-the-conduit-schedule) to the Named Preferred Box. - **May Route Box** ![A simple yellow block representing a basic geometric shape for educational purposes.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/may route box(4).png) Gives ACP the option to penetrate collision geometry, rather than route around it. - **Keep Out Box** ![A pink rectangular block displayed in a simple geometric style.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/keep out box(2).png) Creates an area where conduit routing should be avoided. - ACP will only route through Keep Out Boxes to connect to a source or destination within. #### Guidance Spaces - **Add Preferred Spaces:** ![A 3D representation of a geometric shape illustrating dimensions and angles.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/preferred space(1).png) When multiple routes are possible, Preferred Space tells ACP to choose a route that runs through this space. - If it doesn’t negatively impact the overall route. - **Add Keep Out Spaces:** ![A 3D representation of a geometric shape illustrating dimensions and angles.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/keep out space.png) Assigns a space where conduit routing should be avoided. - **Remove Guidance Space:** ![A package icon indicating an error or alert status in a digital interface.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/remove guidance space.png) Removes the Preferred/Keep Out setting from the selected spaces, returning them to an unassigned state. #### Add to Off Axis Area - **Add a Guidance Box** to an [Off-Axis mass](/v1/docs/managing-off-axis-areas) ![Two geometric shapes, a cube and a rectangular prism, displayed in a 3D view.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/off axis guidance.png) Rotates the Guidance Box to the axis specified within the Off-Axis mass, and assigns the Guidance Box to the Off-Axis mass. --- ## Edit panel ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/image-VB17P25F.png) - [**Inspect Solutions**](/v1/docs/reviewing-a-solution-in-a-revit-view#use-the-solution-inspection-tool-to-automatically-create-view-filters) ![Three colorful rounded rectangles representing different categories or options.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/inspect solutions.png) Creates and applies temporary filters to the active view to highlight elements containing properties from the ACP Schedule Inputs. - [**Trim Conduit**](/v1/docs/reconnecting-bends-using-the-name-tool) ![Diagram illustrating a flow from three sources to two destinations.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/trim conduit.png) Places the needed conduit and conduit fittings to connect segments of conduits and racks together - [**Space Conduit**](/v1/docs/space-conduit) ![Icon representing vertical and horizontal alignment options for document formatting.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/space conduit.png) Adjusts the spacing between conduits in a rack based on the conduit size. - [**Swap Conduit**](/v1/docs/swap-conduit) ![Icon representing a scrollable area with up and down arrows for navigation.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/swap conduit.png) Exchanges the position of segments from two runs of conduit within a rack - [**Select Generated Raceway**](/v1/docs/inspect-model) ![Icon representing a document with a cursor indicating interaction or selection.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/3db99144-2736-4654-a3ba-1aa2e78ddb2a/Images/Documentation/select raceway(2).png) Selects all elements that were exported from the ACP Project into the Revit project. Short for the **Augmenta Construction Platform** A Generic Model family which provides ACP guidance on how to route conduit within the region when generating routes. Used in studies to indicate source-destination pairings and describe the feeder which runs between the two. Its two components are Conduit Schedule and Feeder Schedule. The main organizational unit in ACP where user-provided data for studies are imported, stored, and managed, and where routing solutions for the Raceway(s) are generated based on those studies. A designated space within ACP for organizations to store, manage, and work with their projects, files, and settings. ## Related - [Using the Guidance tools](/using-the-guidance-tools.md) - [Push Properties](/updating-conduit-runs-using-the-push-properties-tool.md) - [Updating the ACP Revit Add-In](/updating-the-acp-revit-add-in.md)
